Website

Visiting the site

The website runs on a server we operate ourselves. When you open a page, the server necessarily processes your IP address, date and time, the requested address and your browser and operating system to deliver the page and keep the service secure. We keep this data only as long as needed for that. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

No cookies, no third-party services

The website sets no cookies. We serve fonts and images ourselves; your browser does not connect to Google or other providers for them.

Analytics with Umami

To see how the website is used, we use Umami. It runs on our own server (umami.hofmann-media.com) and uses no cookies. It records the pages viewed, the page you came from, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and country, and clicks on certain buttons such as “Buy now”, “Go to shop” or the newsletter signup.

Your IP address is not stored. Umami only groups visits by an anonymous identifier that changes regularly and cannot identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website and understanding demand for MixMagic (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Shop

Clicking “Buy now” places no order and sends no personal data. We count the click anonymously with Umami as described above.

Newsletter

When you sign up for the newsletter, we store your email address and, if you enter it, your name. The newsletter runs on Listmonk on our own server (list.mix-magic.com). After signing up you get an email with a confirmation link; you are only on the list once you click it.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to info@mix-magic.com. We then remove your data from the list.

Shared cocktails

When someone shares a cocktail from the app, the link opens a page on mix-magic.com. Our server fetches the recipe and its pictures from the app’s database (Supabase, see below). Your browser does not connect to Supabase, and no data about you is transmitted.

App

Account and storage

We store your recipes, ingredient lists, photos and settings in our cloud service Supabase (supabase.com) on servers in Europe, so you can use them on several devices and nothing gets lost. For your account we store your email address. Data is transmitted encrypted. The legal basis is providing the app you want to use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep the data until you delete your account.

Camera

The app only uses the camera when you start it:

  • to scan barcodes and QR codes to recognise ingredients and bottles,
  • to take photos of your cocktails and ingredients for your library.

Photos are stored in your account on Supabase and are only visible to you until you share them.

Bluetooth and location

The app connects to the MixMagic scale via Bluetooth. Android additionally requires the location permission for this. We do not collect or store location data.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to

  • get information about your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • have processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • receive your data in a common format (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
  • withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

Just write to info@mix-magic.com.

You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
